I thought it might be an issue with incompatibility between the older version fade-in and the newer one, so I removed the fade-in slide transition from the original and re-created the transition with the new version Fade Smoothly.
The flicker is a split second flash of the previous slide at the end of the transition. Just recently upgraded to 5.0.2.2 from 4.3.7.2 and presentations that I created in 4.3.7.2 which had Fade-in slide animations are plagued with a slide flicker.
